JoJo grew into herself on the deluxe version of "Good To Know"

Atualizado: 23 de abr.

After contemplating us with the spectacular "Good To Know" on May 1, JoJo has a few more things to say in the deluxe version. In an album where she shows herself as a fearless and independent woman, the American singer proves a professional maturity again, exposing her desires, concerns, and needs.

The deluxe version, released on August 28, 2020, includes seven new tracks via Clover Music and Warner Records. The singer worked with Lido, NoiseClub, NOVA WAV, The ANMLS, Nevin, Kid Culture, Wallis Lane, Michael Sonier, Sir Dylan, and Doc McKinney.

One of the delightful surprises is the remix of "Lonely Hearts" with Demi Lovato. This one marks the first collaboration between the artists, and their powerful voices create this intense ballad, where hearts don't break when you're not in love, as the lyrics say.

"Proud," which also appears in the physical version, is like a thank you to a friend who has always sent positive energies to her while transmitting a solid message in which she says that we must love ourselves.

In "Kiss," JoJo describes how she feels alone and shows the need to be with a friend of hers. She seems comfortable with the situation, as long as deeper feelings do not appear. "Kinda feels like love/ But without the attachment/If all we do is touch/I'll be fine if there's passion/We walking on a line/And we better not cross it, no, no."

"Love Reggae" contains the first collaboration with Tinashe. In this song, much like the entire album, JoJo explores love and her intimate side, and the chorus is slightly addictive, not forgetting the sweet voice that Tinashe adds to the track. "Just let me hold you, console you/ Told you I was ready/ Boy, you a blessing I ain't tryna lose, ooh

I promise I ain't tryna lose you, my bed only made for two." "What U Need" follows the same line, with a more beaten production and the one chosen to promote this deluxe version. The music video, directed by Santiago Salviche, shows a highly elaborate choreography, by Bec Morris, in a joyful atmosphere.

"X (1 Thing Wrong)" is the one that registers a more different tone and production, which is good. There is something more experimental here, without neglecting the consistently accurate lyrics. "You're my ex for a reason, yeah/ We were good for a season, yeah/ No, I'm not gon 'repeat it, yeah."

"In Your Room" closes the deluxe version, a total bop. This sexy song explores the artist's happiness when she is with the person she likes in her room. Despite everything, they are not soulmates, but two people who enjoy being together.

In addition to the deluxe version, JoJo also released the acoustic version of his standard album, on July 10, to extra bless our ears.
